Finishing
Lafer has established a Surface Engineering department dedicated to pre and post-coating treatments that optimize all parameters of surface finishing, contributing to achieving the performance levels required by the customer.
Sharpening
Our sharpening department, equipped with state-of-the-art robotized on the market facilities and a metrology room featuring cutting-edge instruments, enables the reconstruction and inspection of cutting edges for both cylindrical tools and gear teeth. All sharpening services are certified and performed in-house.
Development of Coatings
Once surfaces are optimized, we proceed with studying the ideal coating for the specific application.
Decoating
The decoating process is necessary to restore the surface in case of previous coating. Lafer’s decoating process is repeatable, reliable, and optimized based on the base metal alloy to avoid substrate aggression and maintain surface integrity.

The material undergoes checks: upon entry—regarding quantity, technical feasibility, and surface anomalies that may compromise the proper functioning of the coating; upon exit—regarding compliance and successful depostion of the coating and complementary services.
