LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Our production technologies have a low environmental impact, and our coatings often replace more polluting methodologies. In some cases, such as in chip removal or mold release sectors, they contribute to reducing or eliminating the use of lubricating oils. Applications aimed at reducing friction coefficient also decrease the energy required for machine operation and therefore the resulting emissions.

A sustainable company is a solid company

that looks to the future

Photovoltaic Installations

Part of the energy consumed comes from our photovoltaic systems. By the end of the year, we will have installed approximately 1.365 kWp of photovoltaic systems on our rooftops, thus without using land, which will produce more than 30% of the energy required for the operation of our entire production facility.

Seismic and Energy Update

We are completing the seismic retrofitting of all our 13.000 square meters of the facility and upgrading our facility to comply with all the latest energy-saving regulations regarding the building envelope.

Clean Energy

In the past year, significant milestones have been achieved, such as the elimination of methane gas and diesel as primary energy sources for the operation of our plants and machinery.

Waste Separation and Packaging

We practice meticulous waste separation with recycling and recovery of everything possible.

Our longstanding policy has always aimed to ensure minimal environmental impact in our company’s production processes. An example of this is our 85% reuse of the packaging in which our customers send us materials.

The packaging in which the incoming materials from our customers arrive is discarded and stored on designated shelves. They are later reused for shipping once the materials have completed their production cycle.

Our certifications

We are in the heart of the Po Valley, and the shared love for nature among many of us has led us to create, in the immediate vicinity, a fruit garden consisting of over 10.000 trees of more than 200 different fruit varieties. Here, visitors (including Lafer customers) can pick fruit with their own hands, enjoying locally grown produce.

This initiative also helps sequester carbon dioxide, and the pruning waste contributes to renewable energy sources.
